The Bramble Cay Mosaic-tailed Rat, or Bramble Cay Melomys (Melomys rubicola) is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Australia on Bramble Cay where its population is small. It is similar to the Cape York Melomys except that it has some protein differences and a coarser tail caused by elevated scales. Most prominent in herdfields and strandline vegetation where it also builds burrows.
